Timeline of Tryll

Pre-Sundering

200 PS: Idyllia comes under the rule of vRen, Arch-Prelate of v'Ran, the One god.
192-PS: vRen begins the Jihad, the holy war against the evil powers of Ashen Sudar, the Nameless One.
185-PS: The Forces of Light, lead by the Paladin Fairbourne, drive back the forces of evil, leaving them all but destroyed.
117-PS: vRen declares that the One god, v'Ran, had abandoned the people.
112-PS: vRen declares himself divine, and demands the worship of his people.
95-PS: Ashen Sudar, sensing the loss of power of his opponent, v'Ran, insinuates his agents amongst the Forces of Light, corrupting them.
90-PS: v'Ran, desperate because of his loss of power, fears for Idyllia under the rule of the Nameless One. He empowers the paladin lord Fairbourne with great strength, to thwart Ashen Sudar's plans.
85-PS: Fairbourne begins the Hunt, an attempt to purge the Forces of Light of their evil brethren.
79-PS: Ashen Sudar, noticing Fairbourne's success, grants the Anti-Paladin Nightshadow great power, and commands him to do battle with Fairbourne.
65-PS: Fairbourne and Nightshadow clash. As v'Ran has lost a large percentage of his worshippers to Ashen Sudar, he is weakened. Fairbourne can not call upon enough power from his god, and is slain by Nightshadow.
63-PS: The Godwar begins. The forces of good battle the forces of evil. v'Ran and Ashen Sudar do battle face to face.
5-PS: The titanic forces released by the gods threaten to destroy the world. v'Ran attempts to end the battle, and spare the world. While he withdraws, Ashen Sudar continues his attack, and prevails in the war. The forces of good withdraw, harried by the forces of evil. vRen is killed as he retreats.
1-PS: v'Ran, fearing that all is lost, summons the last of his waning power, and causes the Sundering. Idyllia is shattered, and re-formed as the Nine Lands. v'Ran is consumed in this release of power, and his power is scattered. Ashen Sudar, weakened by his battle, retreats to rest.
- The nine lesser gods (Tahl, Delia, Fieros, Fleet, Morgon, Lystros, Thorob, Zyrina, and Sarthon) gather this energy, and greatly increase their powers.
- Ashen Sudar, weakened by his battle with v'Ran, is imprisoned by the now more powerful lesser gods.

After Sundering

1-AS: The Greater gods rescue the major races, the Dragons, Elves, Dwarves, Trolls and Humans of Idyllia, and relocate them on the new Nine Lands.
- The out most land, known as Tryll, receives elves, dwarves, humans and trolls.
3-AS: The second land, known as Silverglade, is populated by elves.
4-AS: The third land, Hyrcrain, is populated by dwarves.
- The fourth land, Rendos, is given over to trolls.
5-AS: The fifth land, Sylchanar, is populated by dragons.
- The sixth land, Leiminar, is populated by dwarves and humans.
- Aelerard I is born.
6-AS: The Flightwars begin. The dragons of Sylchanar begin raids upon Leiminar. The dwarves and humans band together, forming one government, called the Ascendant Unity.
- The seventh and eighth lands, Arkath and Syrinos, are populated. Arkath by elves and humans, Syrinos by humans alone.
- The gods claim the ninth land, which they call Idyllia, in honor of their lost home.
12-AS: The humans of Leiminar are driven underground with the dwarves by the dragons.
16-AS: The Spellsword wars begin on Arkath, when the elves attack the humans, attempting to subjugate the "weaker" race.
17-AS: The Landgrabber wars of Tryll begin, as the various races carve out their nations.
23-AS: Candoth I, brother of Aelerard I, is born.
24-AS: The Flightwars end. The dragons of Sylchanar, disgusted at the underground guerrilla tactics of the dwarves and humans, return to their own world.
34-AS: The Battlesend Treaty is signed between the dwarves, elves and humans of Tryll.
- The countries of Hyrstal, Arinanesti, Dramidia, Carthos and Thalendria are formed.
35-AS: Aelerard I is declared the First King of the newly formed country of Dramidia.
37-AS: The countries of Vax Dracos, Naal'Maz, Altos and the Northern Wastes are formed.
40-AS: A gigantic meteorite crashes into Naal'Maz.
42-AS: Trelaine founds the city of Starhome in Naal'Maz. The city is built within the crater left by the meteorite crash of 40-AS.
43-AS: The Spellsword wars on Arkath end, with the elves victorious. The humans are enslaved, in thrall to their elven masters.
85-AS: Aelerard I dies of old age. His brother, Candoth I is crowned the Second King of Dramidia.
- Wacth I, son of Candoth I, is born.
87-AS: Unbeknownst to the populace of Dramidia, Candoth becomes a lich.
124-AS: The dragons of Sylchanar begin raids upon the trolls of Rendos.
- The people of Dramidia mutter that Candoth should be over 100 years old, but seems to be in his fifties. They suspect evil sorcery.
129-AS: Wacth I declares his father to be held alive by evil enchantments, and challenges his father to combat. Candoth I dies in combat with his son. Wacth I is declared the Third King of Dramidia.
135-AS: The Scepter of Dramidia if forged by the Arch-Mage Drethin. The Scepter is presented to Wacth, third Kind of Dramidia.
137-AS: Wacth II, son of Wacth I, is born.
138-AS: The dragons of Sylchanar give up in disgust, and leave Rendos.
139-AS: The Wyrm Emigration begins, as many of the great dragons of Sylchanar move to the other lands.
148-AS: The War of Brothersblood begins on Tryll. The elves of Arinanesti battle with the drow of the Mistspire Mountains.
153-AS: Herian Lightsglint, Gladeguardian of Arinanesti goes on. Calian Oaksroot becomes the new Gladeguardian.

The Brotherhood, an organization of elves, both drow and gray, forms. They are opposed to the Brothersblood war, and favor peace amongst the elves.

158-AS: Calian orders a new policy for drow prisoners. Death. The Brotherhood objects strenuously, and Calian exiles it's leaders. Many elves, both gray and drow, leave with the Brotherhood.
160-AS: The Brothersblood wars end, and the drow are driven deep underground. They form the underground kingdom of Mennzoberanzan, and are not heard of again.
161-AS: Wacth I is poisoned by his wife. His son, Wacth II, is declared Fourth King. His first official act is to have his mother executed for regicide.
163-AS: After five years of wandering, the exiled Brotherhood find a new home, the island of Thilanon. Klistan Starwatcher is declared Leasguardian of Thilanon.
171-AS: The Alyndrian Mage's Guild, The Assembly, is formed.
189-AS: The Darkpurge begins in Carthos. The clerics of Tahl, lead by Estors, Arch-Prelate of Tahl, wage civil war against Zeeman Cix, King of Carthos.
191-AS: Darisar I, son of Wacth II, is born.
192-AS: The Northern Barbarians attack the weakened country of Carthos, carving off the northern most portion.
199-AS: The Darkpurge ends, with Arch-Prelate Estors victorious. He declares himself King, granting himself the official title of King by Tahl's Decree, and Light of Heaven.

Carthos is renamed Ingloria.

207-AS: Dramidia opens diplomatic relations with the distant land of Naal'Maz.
208-AS: Wacth II, King of Dramidia, is assassinated by a Naal'Mazian diplomat. His son, Darisar I, is crowned the Fifth King. Darisar decrees that all those of the royal line are to pursue the art of war craft, to be better able to defend themselves.

King Darisar I declares war upon Naal'Maz.

212-AS: Naal'Maz negotiates a treaty with Dramidia. They pay reparations for the assassination of Wacth II. The war ends.
242-AS: Malach I, son of Darisar I, is born.
247-AS: The Brotherhood of the Skull, a Guild of Assassins, forms in Dath Marl.
254-AS: The Brotherhood of the Skull expands quickly, and has Guild Halls in every major city on the continent.

Aelerard II, son of Malach I, is born.

262-AS: Darisar dies of old age. He is succeeded by Malach I, the Sixth King.

Torman I, son of Malach I, is born.

274-AS: Plague breaks out in Dramidia.
277-AS: Malach I falls to the plague. He is succeeded by his eldest son, Aelerard II, Seventh King of Dramidia.
280-AS: Jevas I, son of Aelerard II, is born.
285-AS: The Scepter of Dramidia is stolen form Aelerard's throne room. The thief escapes. Aelerard renounces the throne, declaring himself unfit, and goes into self-imposed exile.
286-AS: Jevas I, son of Aelerard II is declared Eighth King of Dramidia. As the lad is only six years old, Torman I, Aelerard's brother, is appointed Regent until Jevas' eighteenth birthday.
288-AS: Wittand, King of Altos, negotiates a treaty with Regent Torman I. Construction of the Altonian Inns begins in Dramidia.
289-AS: Princess Lydia, younger sister of Jevas I, dies in her bed. Her attending physicians cannot state the cause of her death.
297-AS: King Jevas I dies at his 17th birthday party. The physicians cannot determine the cause of his death, but note that his symptoms mirror those of his deceased sister's .A family curse is suspected.
298-AS: Torman I, as the only surviving member of the royal line, is declared Ninth King. He becomes known amongst the populace as Torman the Poisoner.
307-AS: The Northern Barbarians embark upon a vendetta against the trolls of their lands. The trolls are driven southward through Altos, and into Dramidia through Val Pass.

Aelerard III, son of Torman I, is born.

308-AS: The trolls form a stronghold in the Mistwoods.
309-AS: The mercenary group known as the Skullbearers appears. They are based somewhere near Dath Marl.

Keavoq I, son of Torman I, is born.

311-AS: King Torman I, in an attempt to garner popular favor, personally leads the battle against the trolls in the Mistwoods.
318-AS: The trolls are defeated. Candos, Torman's head general, who had opposed Torman's policies in the past, dies mysteriously at the victory dinner in Trail's Edge. Candos' troops, enraged at "Torman the Poisoner", throw Torman into Trail's Gorge. Torman I dies in the fall.
319-AS: Aelerard III, eldest son of Torman, is declared Tenth King. He renames Trail's Gorge to Torman's Gorge, in honor of his murdered father. Unsure of which soldiers were responsible for the death of his father, he has the entire troop beheaded.
321-AS: Aelerard III, a well known hater of elves, declares war upon the elven nation of Arinanesti. The people of Dramidia protest. He becomes known to the people as Aelerard the Despoiler.
328-AS: A group of Dramidian noblemen, lead by the mage Melvidar, deposes Aelerard III, and banish him from the land.

Keavoq I, second son of Torman, is declared Eleventh King. He immediately draws a peace treaty between Dramidia and Arinanesti. He becomes known as Keavoq the Wise.

355-AS: Darisar II, first son of Keavoq I, is born.
390-AS: Keavoq I dies of old age. Calian Oaksroot, Gladeguardian of Arinanesti, attends the funeral. Keavoq's eldest son, Darisar II, is crowned Twelfth King of Dramidia.
407-AS: Darisar II's wife, Loria, dies from poison. The Head Chef is executed for the crime.
411-AS: Darisar II remarries, wedding the Lady D'Nari of Ba'Thay.
414-AS: Darisar II declares war upon the Brotherhood of the Skulls.

Yamar I, son of Darisar II, is born.

416-AS: Darisar II survives the first assassination attempt upon his life. He becomes known as Darisar the Swift.
419-AS: Darisar's first son, Yamar I, heir to the throne, is poisoned, and dies.
427-AS: Darisar II survives his second assassination attempt.
435-AS: Darisar succeeds in driving the Brotherhood of the Skull out of the towns of Dath Kul and Val Endos.

Malach III, son of Darisar II, is born.

438-AS: Darisar II survives three assassination attempts.
439-AS: The Brotherhood of the Skull reopens in Dath Kul.
452-AS: Darisar II fails to survive his sixth assassination attempt. He is poisoned at the age of 97. He is succeeded by Malach III, his eldest living son, Thirteenth King of Dramidia.

The Brotherhood of the Skull reopens in Val Endos.

460-AS: Malach III weds the Princess Telia.
461-AS: Prince Churos I is born to Malach and Telia.
463-AS: Kender appear upon Tryll.
464-AS: Princess Hylia is born to Malach and Telia.
476-AS: The Skullbearers declare war upon Dramidia, beginning the first Skullwar.
478-AS: The town and keep of Three Forces are built.

Kinthalas and Larsthalas are declared Count and Countess of Three Forces.

479-AS: The individual nations of the Mihar Island chain band together, forming the Mihar Confederacy. They open diplomatic relations with all other countries.
481-AS: The Skullbearers lose the Scepter of Contact, an artifact of Sarthon, and lose much of their power. They fall later that year, and are driven underground.

The Count Kinthalas and the Countess Larsthalas are wed. As a gift, King Malach names them Duke and Duchess.

482-AS: Ashen Sudar is re-awakened.
483-AS: A band of heroes (Nightshade, Icesteel, Darak and Barak Weyland) attempt to awaken the Great god. They accidentally botch the process, and Delia steps in, claiming to be the Barbarian god.

The Northern Barbarians, under orders from Delia, who they believe to be the Great god, declare war upon the world.

The twins Maricon and Haustoria are born to Larsthalas and Kinthalas.

484-AS: The true Great god is awakened by Nightshade, Icesteel, Darak and Barak. Delia abandons her ruse, and the Great god orders an end to the Barbarian war.

A group of warriors, Larsthalas, Firbolg the Half-Giant, Par, Kinthalas and Thar, Potentate of Tahl, retrieve the Gem of Control from Ashen Sudar's lands.

485-AS: Princess Hylia weds the Paladin Lord, Sparhawk.

The Duke Kinthalas and Duchess Larsthalas retire as rulers of the town of Three Forces. They are replaced by the Count Barak Weyland.

Evil creatures, ranging from zombies to lycanthropes and vampires, begin appearing all over the world. One month later, the mysterious appearances suddenly cease.

486-AS: The Scepter of Dramidia is found, and returned to King Malach. The Heroes Nightshade, Neirin, Darak and Sandrax are rewarded.

The Paladin Lord Sparhawk begins his crusade against The Brotherhood of the Skull. He survives two assassination attempts.

487-AS: Wan, ruler of the Brotherhood of the Skull, is killed and replaced by Parthanon, a half-elf and one time companion of the Duchess Larsthalas and the Duke Kinthalas.
488-AS: Lord Sparhawk survives three assassination attempts.

Sandrax the Half-Giant is publicly whipped in Dath Kul, as punishment for manslaughter.

King Malach III is assassinated. His son, Churos I, is implicated in his father's death. He dies later, as a result of placing his hand on the Crystal of Light and uttering a falsehood. Sparhawk I is crowned Fourteenth King of Dramidia. His first official act is to declare war upon the Brotherhood of the Skull. The Second Skullwar erupts.

The Assassin's Guilds in Val Endos and Dath Kul are closed.

490-AS: The Second Skullwar ends. Sparhawk succeeds in putting down the Brotherhood of the Skull.

The Baron Coyer Harlena, ruler of the Barony of Torman, is killed during the Skullwar. His daughter, the Lady Sharl Harlena, is for some reason passed over by King Sparhawk as his successor.

Gillin ar'Rul, Mayor of the village of Trail's Edge, is declared the new Baron of Torman.

Parthanon, leader of the Skulls, and his four top aids, are killed. The Brotherhood is in disarray.

490-AS: King Sparhawk outlaws the worship of evil gods.

The Duke Kinthalas turns renegade, and leads an invasion force to the island kingdom of Crescent Isle. He is defeated, and returns home. His surviving mercenaries are executed for treason, and the Duke is stripped of all titles and lands, and banished from Dramidia.

492-AS: The half-giant Sandrax leads a band of hill giants, orcs and trolls against the city of Dath Kul, in a personal vendetta against Lord Blane. He takes the city, and holds it for several months. Finally, Blane challenges the half-giant to a one on one battle for the city. Sandrax accepts, but has his pet mage use foul magics to transform Sandrax from a half-giant into a mighty Shadow Dragon. In an epic battle, Blane defeats the dragon Sandrax, and retakes the city.

Baron Gillin ar'Rul and Margreave Golfrinch ar'Rul agree to join their two baronies, under the control of Baron Gillin.

Baron Gillin, citing the recent wars, raises the taxes in Torman and Garas County from 20% to 30% as a temporary measure.

493-AS: King Sparhawk's army is seriously depleted by constant warfare. He is forced to reduce his patrols of the country. Travel between cities becomes a dangerous proposition, as encounters with monsters and bandits become more common.
494-AS: Gronast I, first son of King Sparhawk and Queen Hylia, is born.
498-AS: Every major city and center of learning on Tryll finds a copy of the Chronus of Summoning, the text dealing with the summoning and control of the demons of Infernus.

Lady Alisha of Woodsdeep is executed at King Sparhawk's orders. Her crime was her refusal to collect Sparhawk's high taxes in her realm. Her people were on the brink of starvation, and she felt these new taxes would push them over.

King Sparhawk, frustrated at his failure to eradicate the worship of evil gods, declares civil war upon those cities which defy his orders. Before the war can commence, Sparhawk is slain in combat with a champion of Delia. No one witnesses the battle.

Gronast I is declared the Fifteenth King of Dramidia. As the new king is only four years old, the Dramidian Council appoints Damen as the King's Regent.

Regent Damen pardons Kinthalas, and reinstates him as a Duke of the realm. Kinthalas is given control of the Region of Woodsdeep.

499-AS: Kinthalas has his men search for a suitable cove to house a new port town, between Dath Kul and Val Endos. A bay is found, but is discovered to be the secret home of the infamous Pirate Lord, Black Tolak. Tolak holds the Bay for six weeks against the King's forces, before surrendering. He is executed two weeks later.
500-AS: The port town of Newport is founded. Construction begins.
503-AS: A catastrophic storm sweeps the world. Afterwards, the Leylines appear.

The most powerful people of the world begin to disappear. Few escape this process. Trelaine of Starhome is the only one known to have avoided this exodus.

The Harkati invade, installing the "New Order".

The Leylines form a Dark Haze. A powerful storm sweeps the world, sinking ships, and all but destroying coastal towns. The mage Tyresian, foolishly attempting to harness the powers of the Dark Haze, creates Tyresian's Folly, a small, hurricane force storm, which roams the seas of Tryll. This storm destroys ships, and often works as a portal to Ravenloft.

The Leylines are ruptured by a band of heroes. Blake-Orb of Vax Dracos, Kuo D'ayqi and Mishra of Altos are rewarded for this valiant act.

504-AS: The missing powerful people return from the Labyrinth.

Prince Gronast I's Grounding Ceremony commences. Four warriors, Lodos, Sorak, Bertram and Clarissa win the Contest to become his Keepers. A fifth warrior, Derkin the Dwarf, desolate over his failure to adequately carry out his duties as a Keeper, commits suicide.

The Keeper Bertram is slain. Tyresian of Newport is declared a Keeper in his place.

Prince Gronast I is kidnapped by a band of adventurers posing as the Keepers. They attempt to assassinate Gronast at the Festival of Light in Dath Kul, but fail due to the timely intervention of the real Keepers. Despite their valiant efforts, Gronast is poisoned, but kept alive by sorcery. Lodos is implicated in the Prince's attack.

The Keepers, during their quest for an antidote to the poison which affects Gronast, stumble across a forgotten temple of Jhuva. The god is awakened.

505-AS: The Assembly of Alyndria bands together to destroy Tyresian's folly.

The minor god Jhuva finds a new Arch-Prelate.

506-AS: The Keepers, and a warrior named Dunolin, return victorious from Naal'Maz. They bring with them the plant known as the Breath of Cthiss. Dramidian sages work on this plant, and discover an antidote to the poison which affects the Prince.

The Keepers are brought before Regent Damen Lormane and Prince Gronast I. They are rewarded for their deeds, and granted titles and lands.
